Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Our Services – EDMR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

A structured, evidence-based approach designed to help process trauma, reduce emotional overwhelm, and support healing from distressing experiences.

When the Past Continues to Affect the Present

Difficult or overwhelming experiences can remain stored in the nervous system long after the event itself has passed.

Even when we understand what happened logically, the emotional and physical impact of trauma, stress, or painful experiences can continue to shape how we feel, react, and move through life.

EMDR Therapy helps support the brain’s natural ability to process and integrate these experiences in a way that reduces emotional intensity and creates space for healing and change.

EMDR is not about reliving painful experiences, but helping the brain and nervous system process them in a safer and more integrated way.

Healing Trauma: Finding Your Way Back to Yourself

Perhaps you’ve spent years trying to understand why certain patterns keep showing up in your life.

You may find yourself feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in painful relationships, constantly caring for everyone else, or carrying a sense that something inside you is still hurting despite all the work you’ve done. You may know your story. You may understand your trauma. Yet part of you still feels trapped by experiences that happened long ago.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

One of the most painful aspects of trauma is that it can separate us from ourselves. We learn to push down feelings that seem too overwhelming, disconnect from our bodies when emotions feel too intense, or develop protective patterns that help us survive but later make it difficult to fully live.

I believe these protective responses deserve compassion, not criticism.

The anxious part of you.
The perfectionistic part.
The people-pleasing part.
The part that shuts down.
The part that longs for connection and the part that is terrified of it.

Every one of these parts developed for a reason.

In our work together, we create a space where all of you is welcome.

Using EMDR, parts work, and a deeply relational approach, I help clients gently explore the experiences that shaped them while building the safety needed for lasting healing. We move at a pace that respects your nervous system. There is no forcing, no pushing, and no expectation that you should simply “get over” what you’ve been through.

Instead, we become curious together.

We listen to the stories your mind, body, and nervous system have been carrying.

We honor the ways you learned to survive.

And we help those wounded parts discover that they no longer have to carry their burdens alone.

Over time, many clients begin to experience something they may not have felt in years: a deeper sense of connection to themselves.

They feel more grounded in their bodies.
More present in their relationships.
More able to trust their own feelings and needs.
Less controlled by old wounds and survival patterns.

This process is often described as integration.

The parts of you that once felt disconnected begin to come together. The experiences that once felt overwhelming become part of your story rather than something that continues to define your present. What was fragmented begins to feel whole.

You do not have to navigate this journey by yourself.

Healing happens in relationship. It happens when we feel safe enough to turn toward the places within us that have been carrying pain, fear, grief, shame, or loneliness. My role is not to tell you who to become. My role is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with the person you have always been beneath the adaptations, defenses, and survival strategies.

Together, we can move from dissociation to embodiment, from self-protection to self-trust, and from surviving to living with greater freedom, connection, and authenticity.

You don’t have to carry it all alone anymore. Healing is possible, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you find your way back to yourself.

Common Questions

Not necessarily. EMDR does not require sharing every detail of an experience in order for processing and healing to occur.

The timeline varies depending on the individual, their history, and their goals. This can be discussed during the consultation process.

While EMDR is widely known for trauma treatment, it may also support anxiety, stress-related symptoms, negative self-beliefs, and other emotional patterns.

Some emotions may arise during the process, but therapy is paced thoughtfully and includes preparation and support to help clients feel grounded and safe.
